  1. What is CPD?

    CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. In 2015, the Malaysian Veterinary Council (MVC) has appointed Malaysian Veterinary Medical Association (MAVMA) to be the coordinator for the assessment and to award CPD point for any related event to the veterinary fraternity in Malaysia.

     

  2. Why is the Malaysian Veterinary Council (MVC) Insisting that registered veterinary surgeons show evidence of CPD before it will grant the APC [Annual Practice Certificate]?

    The Guiding Principle of CPD is that all Veterinary Surgeons must, for the betterment of their professional standing, keep up with ever-growing knowledge and developments relevant to their fields of practice.

     

  3. How do I apply for CPD point after I attended paid overseas seminar/conference?

    Paid seminar/workshop/conference means the organiser of the event imposed certain fees for you to participate (Local organiser should apply the CPD point for the participants) You can download the CPD application form and pay RM10 for the processing fee. Pending on the CPD online application portal, you can email the form, relevant documents and proof of payment to cpd@mavma.org.my. The payment can be made to

  4. How do I apply for CPD point for free local or oversea seminar/workshop/conference?

    Free local or oversea seminar/workshop/conference means the organiser does not imposed any fee for the event. You can download and fill the CPD application form. Pending on the CPD online application portal, you can email the form and relevant documents to cpd@mavma.org.my. No processing fee is imposed.

     

  5. How do I apply for CPD point for paid local annual conference or seminar for my association/company?

    You can download the CPD application form and pay RM100 for the processing fee. Pending on the CPD online application portal, you can email your form, relevant documents and proof of payment to cpd@mavma.org.my. Please submit the attendance list after the event in EXCEL file to cpd@mavma.org.my. You are responsible to inform the participants of the CPD code and point awarded (certificate of participation).

     

  6. My company is organizing a free seminar for my client. How do I apply for the CPD point for my client?

    You can download and fill the CPD application form. Pending on the CPD online application portal, you can email your form and relevant documents to cpd@mavma.org.my. Please submit the attendance list after the event in EXCEL file to cpd@mavma.org.my. You are responsible to inform your client the CPD code and point awarded (certificate of participation).

     

  7. My company is sponsoring our clients/veterinarians to attend paid conference/seminar overseas. How do I apply for the CPD point for my client?

    You can download and fill the CPD application form. Pending on the CPD online application portal, you can email the form and relevant documents to cpd@mavma.org.my. Please submit the attendance list after the event in EXCEL file to cpd@mavma.org.my. As it is a paid conference or seminar, you have to pay the processing fee of RM100 for your client and you are responsible to inform your client the CPD code and point awarded.

     

  8. How many points do I need to apply for APC renewal?

    Starting for year 2018 for 2019 APC renewal, 50 CPD point is needed and 30 points for applicant above 60 years old. Please refer to MVC Directives no. 1/2016.

     

  9. What points can be carried forward for APC renewal?

    Excess points obtained between October 1st - September 30th every year. (50 CPD points are needed for the 2019 APC onwards).
